What happened

A slow midday, then a spike

Until 12:45, PLAG mostly traded between about $0.70 and $0.78. At 12:49 it woke up with no news in the data. Volume hit 485K shares at 12:51 and 802K at 12:52, and it was halted at 12:55:11.

Halts and reopens

The first reopen, at 1:00 p.m., came with a 200K-share print at $1.17. A 368K-share bid at $1.32 was first seen at 1:00:36 and pulled at 1:06:57.

Stop It's 1:37. PLAG reopens from a halt that began at 1:12:20. The last trade before the halt was $1.78. Would you buy here?

Press play: the real Level 2, tape and chart run from 1:34 p.m. and stop at 1:37 p.m. ET for your call.

It reopened at $2.53 and touched $2.68, the high of the day, in that minute. It reopened at $1.93 at 1:52:57, and four more halts followed on the way down.

The wall at $1.10

A 263K-share ask wall at $1.10 built up from 2:11.

Stop It's 2:16. PLAG has been halted since 2:11:21, with the last trade at $1.10. Would you buy here?

Press play: the real Level 2, tape and chart run from 2:13 p.m. and stop at 2:16 p.m. ET for your call.

The wall at $1.05 was pulled at 2:16:32. Then 42,570 shares traded at $1.10 in about eight seconds and that wall was eaten.

The fade

It dropped to $0.51 at 3:47, and the 3:59 p.m. minute closed at $0.525, about 80% under the high.

What to take from it: PLAG's wall breaking at $1.10 was not a bottom: it kept sliding to $0.51, and the whole spike was gone by the close.
