What happened

News, then the open

WETO came in after a wild day that closed at $5.50. The 8:00 a.m. news on its sEMG-Vision system did not lift it; it slipped to $7.05 by 8:28.

It still opened at $7.67, up 39%. A 65K-share bid wall sat at $7.05, under the price. It was pulled at 9:32:08 without ever being tested.

Stop It's 9:33. WETO is at $7.88. It opened at $7.67 and has swung between $7.52 and $8.28 in the last two minutes. The $7.05 bid wall was pulled a minute ago. Would you buy here?

The spike to $8.44

Buyers pushed once more. At 9:33:40 a 32K-share buy swept from $8.00 to $8.15. It hit the day's high, $8.44, at 9:34. Within three minutes it was down to $7.23, and it kept making lower lows.

Stop It's 9:57. WETO is at $6.44. It was at $8.44 at 9:34 and has fallen for 23 minutes. Would you buy this dip?

Press play: the real Level 2, tape and chart run from 9:54 a.m. and stop at 9:57 a.m. ET for your call.

The fade

The dip kept going. At 9:58:09 a 16K-share sell swept down to $5.99, 29% below the high. A bounce to $6.59 at 10:08 stopped well under $8.44.

It bottomed at $5.67 at 11:09, then chopped near $6.00. It closed at $5.95, 30% below the high. About 6.4M shares traded, the float about 7 times over.

What to take from it: The high came in the first five minutes, and every bounce after it stopped lower.
